Church Multiplication

Multiplication is an exciting and rewarding experience in the life of a church and its leaders. It can happen in several different ways, from launching a multisite campus to becoming a Greenhouse for church planters, and our district team would love the opportunity to connect with you and explore what God is doing in your ministry!

Across all of the methods, there are 7 dynamics we consider essential when starting the multiplication process. Take a few minutes with your leadership to evaluate where you are in these key areas of church multiplication culture.

  1. Divine Expectation & Engagement: There is an overarching sense at our church that God is working in us, around us and through us, and has invited us to engage in what He is doing.
    • It is common for us to hear stories about what God is doing in our church.
    • Our people live with daily expectation of God using them to advance His Kingdom.
    • We consistently spend time both individually and corporately seeking the Lord and his guidance.
    • There is a clearly communicated God-sized vision.
  2. Shared Interdependent Leadership: Our leadership team is healthy and diverse, with each one functioning in their unique gifting and in complete trust of one another.
    • There is healthy relational interaction among our leaders.
    • The dynamics described in Ephesians 4:11 are evident and honored on our team.
    • We embrace varying spiritual gifts and perspectives, and trust each leader to serve accordingly
    • Our leaders are healthy and self-aware, and have a clear understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses
  3. Implementation of Clear Purpose & Direction: There is clarity about who we are and where we are going, and people own and engage in the journey.
    • We have clear, simple and intentional vision, values and strategies
    • People know and live out our vision, values and strategies.
    • Leaders and members cheerfully invest their time, talents and treasure
    • There is a high rate of engagement
  4. Multiplication DNA: We are expanding God’s presence in our community through consistent reproduction and deployment of disciples and leaders.
    • Our church embraces a disciples-making-disciples culture, and we have a clear disciple-making process.
    • New leaders are regularly identified and developed.
    • There is evidence of growing Kingdom presence in our community.
    • We have a clear desire to plant new faith communities and are taking intentional action toward that goal.
  5. Intentional Gospel Connection: We feel a deep sense of responsibility to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every man, woman and child.
    • We have clearly identified our Acts 1:8 environments and how we plan to reach them.
    • Our people are engaged in consistent prayer for our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth.
    • We intentionally invest in areas of evangelism and life transformation both locally and globally.
    • We are seeing a harvest and celebrating the fruit of the seeds we are sowing.
  6. Balanced Ministry Focus: We purposefully invest and engage in a holistic approach to Kingdom building by equally emphasizing outreach, discipleship, equipping and life transformation.
    • We teach clearly and consistently about reaching the lost, becoming more like Christ, developing and utilizing our spiritual gifts for impact, and walking in supernatural power and freedom.
    • Our church calendar is balanced with opportunities in each of these areas.
    • Our church budget is centered around each of these areas in a balanced and intentional way.
    • Our people are a loving family who are engaged with one another in disciple-making, spiritual growth, serving church and community, and deeper life practices.
  7. Kingdom Network & Collaboration: We are locking arms with like-minded Kingdom ministries for greater impact.
    • We intentionally identify and build relationship with churches and ministries locally and globally who are advancing Christ’s Kingdom.
    • We seek opportunity to serve alongside and partner with others who are spreading the Gospel.
    • We cultivate unity in the body of Christ by celebrating the successes of other ministries who are reaching the lost.
    • Other like-minded ministries in our community see us as their ally and not their competitor.
